• My Oracle Learnings

I have been working on Oracle Technologies from 1995. I learned Oracle Database basics from printed Oracle Documentations (Yes Printed!). It was Oracle 6 documentations. Oracle used to supply the printed documentations to all their customers. We have seen the transformation of IT systems from 1995 to 2026. From the mainframe era, client-server technology, Web applications and now AI.

What changed for Oracle DBA. In old days if you know Install, Patch, Backup/Restore, Disaster Recovery, Network & Troubleshooting, it was enough. Now its multi-cloud, Automation, Virtualization, Quick deployment and what AI is bringing to the job. But the core principles stay the same. Along with learning Automation, Cloud deployments the core database knowledge still are important. My intention is to keep in touch with new database versions, features and how automation in the database technologies help to improve the applications.
